Brian is an ESG executive and thought leader advising companies on ESG reporting strategies, long-term value and corporate purpose. He is a former attorney with 20 years’ experience in law, financial services, public policy and sustainability.

As a Managing Director at EY, Brian advises clients on the design and implementation of effective ESG reporting strategies. He has advised corporations across sectors and at different stages of maturity on ESG practice, helping them navigate a complex and evolving reporting environment and the shifting expectations of institutional investors and stakeholders.

Prior to joining EY, Brian was the Director of Research at a leading non-profit where he developed executive-ready tools for embedding ESG and long-term value. Brian has produced a significant volume of practitioner-focused original research including on ESG reporting on earnings calls, and the performance attributes of corporate purpose. His work has been published in leading journals and publications, including Harvard Business Review, the Journal of Applied Corporate Finance, MIT Sloan Management Review and Institutional Investor

Brian is a frequent and sought-after speaker at high-profile industry forums, including the National Association of Corporate Directors and the National Investor Relations Institute. He has also given testimony at the Securities and Exchange Commission and been a guest lecturer for leading sustainability courses, including Berkeley Sustainable Finance and ESG Investing. 
 
Brian is an attorney by background having spent a decade negotiating and implementing complex multi-jurisdiction leverage finance and financial restructuring transactions for a top-rated law firm in London.
